例え時代が移り変わろうとも、決して変わらない物がある。例え周りが世間の濁流に流されようとも、決して流されない人がいる。そしてどれだけ時間が経っても色あせない音楽がある。お金に目もくれず、地位や名誉を追い求める事もなく、自分のペースで淡々と音楽を作り続けるその人こそ、Loose FingersことLarry Heard。シカゴハウスの中でも特に孤高の存在であり続ける、ミスターソウルマン。なんといっても「Can You Feel It」によって、世界中を無限の愛で包んだ張本人である。ほー、こりゃたまんねー。というわけでさっそく買ってみました「Can You Feel It」。シカゴ・ハウスという言葉も知らなかったのですが、どうやらシカゴはハウス発祥の地らしいです。そしてこのラリー・ハードこそが現在のハウス・ミュージックに繋がるオリジナリエーターということらしい。ラリー・ハードがいなければ、今のロン・トレントもグレン・アンダーグラウンドもデリック・メイもカール・クレイグもセオ・パリッシュもLTJブケムもいなかったかもしれない…とライナーノーツに書いてあった。あー確かにデトロイトテクノに通じる職人気質みたいなものがあります。

Posted by: 山やま : March 20, 2005 09:29 PM私もこれは持っています。空間性が気持ち良い名曲中の名曲ですよね。オリジナルバージョンがやはり一番好きですが、キング牧師の演説が乗ったバージョンとか曲の終わりと演説の終わりが上手〜く合わせてあって感動モノです。友人にも買わせました(笑)
